The founder and head instructor of Keystone Martial Arts is Joe Bracks. With over 25 years' experience in martial arts, Joe holds Dan grades,black belts,or equivalents in Jujitsu - 3rd Dan, Zen Do Kai Freestyle Karate, BJC Muay Thai Kickboxing, Taekwondo and in 2010 he was awarded his 3rd Dan in Japan by the International Budo Jujitsu Federation (IBJ).
Joe has also extensively trained in Western Boxing, Judo & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. While he continues to actively train and develop in all these systems, his main training focus is in Northstar Jujitsu /Shinbudo, where he hold a 3rd Dan under Andrew Dickinson Sensei who he has trained with for the past 21 years.
In October 2010, Joe made a return to competition after a 3 year break and won the IBJ (International Budo Jujitsu) Asia Pacific Heavyweight Title in Japan and in 2013 he was part of the coaching team for the squad that represented Australia in Poland at the International Jujitsu World Championships.
Joe is a registered and accredited Level 2 NCAS Coach (National Coaching Accreditation Scheme) and is the NSW State Rep for the Australian Jujitsu Federation.
Joe passion and vision for Keystone is delivered through a culture of strong community and family values along with social responsibility. ‘Keystone is a modern and progressive martial arts systems with traditional values’. This is proven in practice with Joe’s wife, 3 children and members of his extended family achieving a black belt and actively training and teaching at Keystone.
